Jermale Jones retained by Baeren

Jermale JonesJermale Jones (186 cm, Tuskegee’09) has been retained by German ProB team Licher Basket Baeren after impressing for the club last season. The shooting guard signed on a temporary deal with Licher in September 2012 but was retained for the remainder of the season in January. During the campaign the American played 25 games and averaged 14.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.

Baeren assistant coach Christian Knaus explained the reasons for the club retaining the player.

“We wanted to have another scorer and go into the season with two Americans at the small positions to make our game more versatile. We felt it was important to keep Jermale Jones since he is a consistent scorer and can shoot. We also feel that he hasn’t reached his limit yet. He also has a great character that was popular with the team and fans”.
