The Vaqueros de Bayamon (Puerto Rico-BSN) are strengthening their roster this 2017 with the addition of veteran big man, Jeleel Akindele (216 cm, Chicago State’05). He was a former member of the Nigerian national team from 2006 to 2009. The Chicago State alum is coming off a stint playing in Mexico for Fuerza Regia Monterrey (Mexico-LNBP). The 33-year-old Akindele played three games for them in the Liga Americas and averaged 9.3 ppg and 5.3 rpg. In 33 games in the Mexican league he averaged 13.9 ppg and 8.4 rpg.
