Jeleel Akindele heads to Yesilgiresun

Yesilgiresun Belediye (Turkey-TBL) has acquired the services of Nigerian big man Jeleel Akindele (216 cm, Chicago State’05) for the 2015/16. Akindele was a former member of the Nigerian national team in 2006-07 and 2009. The 32-year-old veteran played the 2014/15 season on the roster of Montakit Fuenlabrada (Spain-Liga Endesa). He appeared in 34 games for them and was able to record averages of 10.1 ppg and 6.8 rpg.

Jeleel played for two clubs during the 2013/14 season. He was initially with KK Buducnost Voli Podgorica (Montenegro-Erste Liga), where he played 10 Eurocup games and averaged 11.7 ppg and 8.5 rpg. He also played in 24 Adriatic league games, where he averaged 9.3 ppg and 6.6 rpg. In April 2014 he moved to Herbalife Gran Canaria 2014 (Spain-Liga Endesa) where he played seven games, averaging 4.3 ppg and 2.9 rpg.
