Ian Hanavan (202 cm, Evansville’03) will be playing for Generali Okapi Aalstar from Belgium’s Ethias league this 2013-14 season. The American-born Hanavan received his Belgian citizenship in 2009. The 32-year-old veteran spent the last two seasons playing for the Stella Artois Leuven Bears (Belgium-Ethias League). He’s been added to fortify Aalstar’s frontcourt and is expected to slide into a starter’s role from the get-go.

In 2012-13 he played 29 games for them and averaged 11.7 ppg and 4.8 rpg. In 2011-12 he averaged 9.2 ppg and 4.2 rpg. In 2012 he help the Leuven Bears reach the Belgian Cup semifinals.
