Greek A1: Olympiacos, Panathinaikos Grab Wins

Greek A1 Round 6 of the Greek A1 2017-18 regular season ended with a bang with Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus taking on Kolossos H Hotels. Olympiacos dominated their opponents and came away with an easy 54-72 victory yesterday. Olympiacos is tied for second place in the league standings with ASP Promitheas Patras with both clubs managing to keep up their momentum with 5-1 records. The loss drops Kolossos HH (3-3) to eighth place in the league standings. Hollis Thompson led Olympiacos

The King of this Greek Hill still is Panathinaikos Athens. The club has yet to swallow the bitter pill of defeat this season. They faced a winless GS Kymis in Round 6 and also came away with an easy win of their own.

Rounding out the league’s Top 5 are AEK Athens and GS Lavrio. They have identical 4-2 slates. Lavrio defeated Koroivos (3-3) 67-91, while AEK Athens downed 83-73 on November 18th.

Panionios and Kymis, at 0-6, have a lot of catching up to do. They will need to go on huge streaks in order to be in contention to make the playoffs. Again, it’s still early but they should start making changes as soon as possible.
