Giannakis to coach Chinese National Team

China will have a new head coach for its National Team. They have chosen Greek coach Panagiotis Giannakis. Giannakis was the Head Coach of the Greek National team from 1996 to 1997 and 2004 to 2008.

This 2012-13 season, Panagiotis was the head coach of Limoges CSP Elite from France’s ProA. It was a good outing for him, as the 54-year-old successfully led them to win the French SuperCup this 2013.

He was also quite successful in his last coaching stint before Limoges. It was for Greece’s Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus, which he coached from 2007 to 2010. He led them to the Euroleague Finals and as the Greek Cup Winners in 2010.
