“We are hopeful these sides will raise the country’s flag high,” he said. And FUBA will feel they are on the right track to host the event after securing a sponsorship of an undisclosed amount from Coca Cola Caompany, through their brand Sprite. “We thank Sprite for coming on board,” Tashobya noted. “This torurnament will help the Ugandan sides to showcase their skills and talent” About 10 countries; Burundi, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Egypt, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Sudan and South Sudan will grace the designated courts in Kampala as they vie to qualify to represent the region at the Africa Cup of Nations. Sprite last sponsored the event when it was last held in 1999. “Sprite is doing this because we want to see dvelopment of this game within Uganda and Africa” Maggie Kigozi, the brand manager Coca Cola Uganda said. The tournament is a qualifier for the 27th and 18th Africa Championship Cup for men and women in turn.
