Galatasaray bested rival Fenerbahce in Istanbul derby

It was another busy weekend of European Basketball action as countries around the continent focused on domestic duties. While a number of rounds are still in the oven, the weekend story has been told and we move one step closer to the end of the Regular Season. Throughout the weekend the chasing pack in the Italian Serie A kept pace with out of action EA7 Armani Milan, while Fenerbahce lets top spot in the Turkish TBL slip after a loss to Galatasaray in a blazing Istanbul Derby.

In Germany, Brose Baskets Bamberg stayed on top of the BBL, but arch rivals ALBA Berlin and Bayern Munich remain firmly in the hunt. Current Polish champions PGE Turow suffered a shock defeat, but it was good news for Real Madrid as they tied Unicaja Malaga at the top of the Liga Endesa. Malaga slipped to defeat to open the door for Los Blancos, while Barcelona dropped to yet another disappointing defeat in a season littered with them. The two Greek giants, Olympiacos Pireus and Panathinaikos Athens continued to dominate the A1, but it is Olympiacos that sits atop the standings by a game.
