Panathinaikos Athens – Brose Baskets Bamberg, 76:73

As the final buzzer sounded the hosts improved their Top 16 record to 4-2 and were in a tie for the third spot in Group E with CSKA Moscow, while Brose was left looking for their first win in the round with a 0-6 record.
The battle was on early as the clubs exchanged the lead throughout the first frame, with it ending in a 19:19 tie. Panathinaikos was able to get some breathing room in the second, getting up five late in the quarter, but Bamberg was able to close it out and get back to within one before Stephane Lasme netted a deuce at the end of the half to put his club up 36:33 as they headed to the dressing rooms for the intermission.

Caja Laboral Vitoria – BC Khimki Moscow Region, 71:83
BC Khimki Moscow Region moved into a tie in the standings with Caja Laboral with a 71:83 road win in front of 11,000 at Fernando Buesa Arena. Both clubs left the arena with 4-2 records, one game behind FC Barcelona Regal and Montepaschi Siena, at 5-1.
As was the case in all three contests Friday, the two clubs traded the lead throughout the first quarter and ended up 18:19 when the first buzzer sounded. Caja got up by eight early in the second before Khimki countered and pulled to within one at 35:34 mid-way through the period. The shooters put on a show in the frame and moved outside the arc resulting in 51 points being put up during the second 10. Heading into the break Caja lead by two, 45:43.
Khimki found they could score both inside and outside as Matt Nielson was able to find a hole in the Caja defense to get a couple of backdoor passes for a layup and a dunk and K.C. Rivers helped pull the defense out by slicing the cords with multiple triples. By the end of the third the guests had a six-point advantage 56:62.
Early in the last frame Khimki was able to extend their lead to 12. Caja got back on track and was able to cut the gap to five, but Khimki pressed on and had Zoran Planinic scoring at will from both outside the arc and with textbook moves down the lane. Caja couldn’t come up with an answer and Khimki had what they needed to pull even with Caja in the group standings.
Paul Davis was game-high for Khimki with 20 points. Rivers added 16, Planinic dropped in 13 points and dished off 6 assists.
Fabien Causeur paced Caja with 15 points, Maciej Lampe added 13, Nemanja Bjelica contributed 12.
