Euroleague Basketball has announced that Milan, Italy will be the host city for 2014 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four. The competition will be held in the historic Basketball centre of Milan, the Mediolanum Forum from May 15 to 18 next year, the arena has a capacity of 14,500. The ground is home to EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, the most decorated team in Italy.
This seasons Euroleague Final Four was held in London’s O2 Arena and has been considered one of the most successful since the format was implemented in the 1987/1988 season. Chiara Bisconti, Sports Deputy of the City of Milan said at Thursday’s 2013-14 season draw in Barcelona that Milan would be a worthy venue successor to London and promised a Final Four to remember.
“The city of Milan, which is well known all around the world for its landmarks and will live a very important international occasion with the 2015 Expo, will be able to offer a wonderful scenario for an extraordinary event like the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four.
I will personally make sure that our city, its streets and squares, will be full of people playing basketball for the event. We will provide an unforgettable experience for athletes, workers, visiting supporters and the citizens of Milan.”
