EuroChallenge: Robert Dixon named Week 2 MVP

EuroChallenge

Two excellent individual performances, one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday, stood out during Week 2 action in the EuroChallenge Last 16.

Both these performances came from players who propelled their respective teams to impressive wins on the road.

Pinar Karsiyaka point guard Robert Dixon set the bar high on Tuesday, with a an almost flawless display in his team’s 86-81 win at BK Ventspils in Group I.

The 30-year-old American went 10-of-16 from the floor and made all of his nine shots from the charity stripe to collect 32 points, and he added five assists and three rebounds.

One day later, in Group J action in Israel, Marton Bader of Szolnoki Olajput on his air-traffic controller suit.

The Hungarian international brought down 19 boards, seven of them on the offensive end, and hit six of his eight shots from the field to add 14 points to his stat lines in the game against Hapoel Unet Holon.

Thanks to his dominance in the paint, Szolnoki out-rebounded their hosts 47-33 and claimed a 77-72 triumph.

Bader had earned MVP honours during the second week of the Regular Season, this time around however he did not manage to match Dixon’s efficiency rating.

The 1.78m Karsiyaka point guard reached a rating of 34 to the Hungarian center’s 32 and is named EuroChallenge Last 16 Week 2 MVP.
