Erik Murphy (208 cm, Florida’13) is a recent addition to the roster of Strasbourg IG (France-Pro A) for the upcoming 2016-17 season. Murphy is a 25-year-old American player who also holds a Finnish passport. He has been a member of the Finnish national team since 2013. Erik spent his 2015-16 season playing for Turkish clubs. He began the season playing for Besiktas Istanbul (Turkey-BSL). He played nine games for them in the Eurocup and averaged 7.7 ppg and 4.6 rpg. Murphy played the same number of games for them in the Turkish league and there he averaged 10.2 ppg and 4.8 rpg. In January 2016 Erik moved to Demir Insaat Buyukcekmece (Turkey-BSL). In nine games he averaged 7.8 ppg and 5.3 rpg.
