(TORONTO, ON) – The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Elvin Mims of the London Lightning has been named the Recharge with Milk Player of the Week for the week ending December 23, 2012. Mims is the second player from London to earn this honour, joining Morgan Lewis, who received the award in November.
Mims, a 6’5” forward from Southern Mississippi, was the lead scorer in two of London’s three wins this week, including a 28-point burst in London’s 104-85 victory over Windsor on December 20. He also led the team in rebounds on Saturday night, pulling down 17 boards in London’s 105-84 win over the Montreal Jazz.
