Edwin Ubiles (198 cm, Siena’10) will play in Japan next season after agreeing terms with second tier franchise Kyoto Hannaryz (BJ League). The Puerto Rican-American played for three teams in what was a busy 2012/2013 season. He started the campaign in the French ProA playing for Cholet Basket before heading back to the United States and the D-League. The Swingman played fourteen games for the Santa Cruz Warriors (averages of 7.8 points and 2.6 rebounds) and eleven games for the Springfield Armour (9.1 points and 1.6 assists per game).
Edwin Ubiles has also picked up some NBA game time when he represented the Washington Wizards over four games during the 2011/2012 season. He averaged 3.5 points and 2.5 rebounds for the franchise. The move to Japan will mark the first time that Ubiles has played outside of either Puerto Rico or the USA.
