Donta Smith to stay with Maccabi Haifa

Donta Smith (201 cm, Southeastern Illinois JC’04) is expected to remain with Maccabi Bazan Haifa from Israel’s Winner league. It is reported that he has a contract to play for the team in 2013-14.

Smith played 30 games for Maccabi Haifa in the 2012-13 season. He was able to put up 16.2 ppg and 5.0 rpg as the team’s starting power forward. Maccabi Haifa was a finalist in the Israeli Cup this 2013.

In 2011-12 he played in Mexico’s LNBP for Fuerza Regia Monterrey. There he averaged 15.2 ppg and 7.4 rpg in 36 games.
