Diego Kapelan secures move to Wels

Diego Kapelan (190 cm, McNeese State’11) has signed for Austrian A Bundesliga club WBC Raiffeisen Wels for next season. The Canadian-Bosnian has been spending his time with ETB Wohnbau Baskets Essen (Germany, Pro A) most recently and from thirteen appearances he collected impressive averages of 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. Earlier in the 2013/2014 season the guard featured for VAP Kolossos Rhodes in the Greek A1. His time in Rhodes was short and after three games he departed with 0 points.

The 26-year old has previously played in Cyprus and Bosnia and during the 2012/2013 campaign he wore the jersey of Apollon in the Cyprus Division A and Eurchallenge. In the league he played 21 times and averaged 12.6 points and 2.7 rebounds, while on the continent Diego Kapelan he logged 9.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game from six appearances.
