Diante Garrett signs with Toyota Alvark

Diante Garrett (196 cm, Iowa State’11) is taking his game to the Far East this 2016-17 via a deal with Toyota Alvark Tokyo (Japan-BJ League). The 27-year-old former NBA guard spent his 2015-16 season on the roster of Maccabi Ashdod (Israel-Winner League). He appeared in a total of 33 games for his former team and was able to put together averages of 18.7 ppg and 6.2 apg.

Diante was released by the Toronto Raptors in the 2014-15 preseason, then signed with the Portland Trailblazers. He eventually made his way to the NBA D-League where he played 30 games for the Iowa Energy and averaged 14.7 ppg and 4.5 apg. Diante also saw action with the Grand Rapids Drive (D-League) after signing with them in February 2015. He ended the season with them and played 14 games with averages of 11.0 ppg and 3.4 apg.
