Devin Sweetney to the Lugano Tigers

Devin Sweetney (198 cm, St. Francis-PA’10) will play for Switzerland’s Lugano Tigers this 2013-14 season. The 25-year-old Sweetney played for the Moncton Miracles from Canada’s NBL in 2012-13. He played 47 games for the Miracles and averaged 25.0 ppg and 5.6 rpg, helping them reach the NBL Canada semifinals. Devin was also invited to play in the NBL Canada All-Star Game in 2013.

He skipped the 2011-12 season, leaving the Akita Northern Happinets from Japan’s BJ League before the season began. His rookie season began with him being drafted by the Tulsa 66ers from the NBA D-League, but he left after the pre-season. In January 2011 he moved to Hamar from Iceland’s Express League and averaged 28.0 ppg and 6.8 rpg in six games. In March that same year he signed with the BK Barons Riga (Latvia-LBL) and there he averaged 8.8 ppg and 2.9 rpg in 11 games.
