Desmond Williams now with Salon Vilpas

Desmond Williams (196 cm, Southern Connecticut’16) will begin his pro career with a stint in Finland, signing with the Salon Vilpas Vikings (Finland-Korisliiga) this 2016-17. In his senior year at Southern Connecticut (2015-16), Desmond played 30 games and posted impressive averages, scoring 22.5 points per game while also grabbing 9.8 rebounds per game. It was an excellent last hurrah for the youngster. He was named to the Division II All-ECAC 1st Team, the NABC NCAA D2 All-East District 1st Team, and the NABC NCAA D2 All-America Team in 2016. Williams accolades did not end there. He was named the ECAC Division II Player of the Year, as well as the All-Northeast-10 Player of the Year in 2016
