Veteran of Middle East basketball Derrick Tarver (192 cm, Akron’04) will get a taste of Iraqi basketball this 2013-14 as he signs with Al Karkh. In 2011-12 he played for Antranik Beirut from Lebanon’s Division A. He logged five games for them and averaged 21.3 ppg and 3.5 rpg. In March 2012 he moved to Qatar’s Division 1 to play for Al Sadd Sports Club.
Tarver was a regional journeyman in 2010-11. He started the season with Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (Lebanon-Div.A) where he played a couple of games and averaged 15.5 ppg and 4.0 rpg. He then moved to ASU Sports Club from Jordan’s Premier league, but transferred a month later to B.A. Shiraz from Iran’s Superleague.
