Derrick Caracter signs with Bnei Herzliya

Derrick CaracterDerrick Caracter (206 cm, University of Texas-El Paso’10) has come to terms with Bnei Herzliya (Israel-Winner League) to finish the 2012-13 season. Caracter is a 2010 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers (2nd round, 58th pick overall) and saw court time in 41 games during the Lakers’ 2010-11 season, averaging 2.0ppg on 5.2 minutes per game. He was released by the Lakers in Feb., 2012 and has spent time since then on four NBA D-League rosters, Bakersfield Jam, Los Angeles D-Fenders, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and Idaho Stampede. As a senior at UTEP, Caracter averaged 14.1 points per game over 27 games. He played in the NCAA tournament all three years he played in college (two years with Louisville and one with UTEP).
