Derek Ogbeide signs with Hapoel Eilat

Derek Ogbeide (203 cm; F) has joined the Israeli League’s Hapoel Eilat, giving the club an additional athletic presence in the frontcourt.

The Nigerian-Canadian contributed 14.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 29 games for AEK Larnaca this season.

Derek Ogbeide raises profile

Ogbeide helped AEK Larnaca win the Cyprus playoffs finals in April. After a dynamic performance (22 points, 17 rebounds) in the decisive Game 5, he received finals MVP honors.

In the championship series, he averaged 14.2 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.4 assists.

He attended the University of Georgia before launching his pro career in 2019.
