Derek Jackson (185 cm, Kent State’15) will be taking his game to Finland this 2017-18 after agreeing to terms on a deal to play for the Helsinki Seagulls (Finland-Korisliiga). The 25-year-old guard will be in for a change of scenery, having spent the 2016-17 on the roster of the Redwell Gunners Oberwart (Austria-A Bundesliga). He played 10 games for his former team in the FIBA Europe Cup, where he averaged 12.4 ppg and 4.7 apg. Jackson also appeared in a total of 41 games in the domestic Austrian League, there he managed to notch averages of 14.6 ppg and 5.0 apg.
