D.J. Kennedy (198 cm, St. John’s’11) is taking his talents to Russia this 2014-15 season, signing a deal to play for Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd (VTB). The 24-year-old Kennedy started the 2013-14 with the Dallas Mavericks but was released by the team in October 2013. The player then headed to France and signed with Gravelines Dunkerque Grand Littoral (Pro A). He played four games for them in the Eurocup and was able to average 11.0 ppg and 3.0 rpg. He played the same number of games in the French Pro A league and there he averaged 9.5 ppg and 2.8 rpg. In January 2014 he moved to Hapoel Holon from Israel’s Winner league where he posted averages of 12.1 ppg and 3.0 rpg through 19 games.
