Craig Brackins

Craig Brackins (208 cm, Iowa State’10) has been waived by Angelico Biella (Italy-SerieA) after 10 games, he was averaging 12.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. The announcement was made at a press conference on Friday with the reason given that the club can’t wait for an injury he suffered to his hand. Brackins was 1st round draft pick (21st overall) in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder and was traded to the New Orleans Hornets, who then traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers assigned him to the Springfield Armor of the NBA D-League, where he played 18 games and averaged 20.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Due to the NBA lockout in 2011, Brackins signed a short-term deal with Maccabi Ashdod (Israel-Winner League) and tallied 13.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game over four games. He resigned with the Sixers when the lockout was over for 2011-12 and saw limited floor time in the first eight games of the season and was assigned to the Maine Red Claws of the D-League, contributing 18.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in seven games. In March he was brought back up to the Sixers to finish the season. In the last games, he turned in his best performance of his NBA career dropping in 10 points in his first starting role. Brackins played three years of collegiate ball at Iowa State, compiling a 16.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game average over 95 games. His junior year he put up 20.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in 21 games, finishing 3rd in the Big 12 Conference in scoring and 4th in total rebounds.
