Chaisson Allen will leave Zadar

Chaisson Allen
American point guard Chaisson Allen (192 cm, Northeastern’10) is set to depart KK Zadar (Croatia, Adriatic League) after a turbulent season for the team. Allen inked with Zadar at the start of the 2012-2013 season, but the campaign has been blighted with financial issues and problems for the Croatian outfit.

Before the season had even started players at Zadar had threatened to go on strike in a bid to receive salaries owed from last season. While the strike only materialised in the form of a few missed training sessions, the tone was set for a rocky start to the season. Chaisson Allen was brought to the roster in late September after playing the 2011-2012 season with Galil Gilboa (Israel, Winner League) and Karsiyaka SK Izmir (Turkey, TBL).

23-year old Allen was close to departing Zadar in December 2012 when the club decided to keep him and release Jordan Burgason (190 cm, Lipscomb’12). This kind of uncertain player movement has characterised the season for Zadar, and now Allen is set to leave the club, signalling another change to the roster.

Chaisson Allen is in his second year as a pro, during the 2012-2013 season with Zadar he has averaged 4.9ppg, 0.9rpg, and 2.1apg over 17 games.
