Oldham to coach Bremerhaven

calvin oldhamCalvin Oldham will be the new coach of Eisbaeraen Bremerhaven from Germany’s BBL. He’s had some background coaching Germany before. Oldham was Head Coach of Bayreuth (1996-1998) and Leverkusen (1998-2002) earlier in his career.

He was also Associate Head Coach of ALBA Berlin (Bundesliga) from 2005 to 2007. He guided Berlin to become the German Bundesliga Regular Season Champions in 2006 and 2007, and also the German Bundesliga Cup Winners in 2006.

Most recently, he was a coaching assistant in KCC Egis from South Korea’s KBL. He served in that capacity from 2007 up until 2013. KCC Egis made it to the Korean KBL Semifinals in 2008, were Finalists in 2010, and Korean KBL Champions in 2009.

“Calvin Oldham was our first choice as our new head coach. We are excited that he accepted our offer. Calvin is a well respected and experienced basketball expert who is well connected nationally and internationally. Though he worked in South Korea in the past six years, Calvin knows German basketball extremely well. He spent almost 19 years living here and speaks German”, Eisbaeren CEO Jan Rathjen stated.
