Cytavision Apoel Nicosia from Cyprus’ Division A is replacing Tyler Lazer with Brandon Ewing (187 cm, Wyoming’09). Ewing is moving from the Swiss team, Lugano Tigers (LNA), where he averaged 7.6 ppg and 5.1 apg in nine games.

In the 2011-12 season, he played for the Iowa Energy of the NBA D-League. He was drafted in 2011 in the second round (10th overall). In 39 games for the Energy Ewing averaged 7.4 ppg and 4.8 apg. He was briefly sidelined with a right hand injury and placed on waivers, but was re-acquired by the Energy.

This is not Ewing’s first season in Cyprus. He played for Proteas Danoi Ael Limassol (Division A) in the 2010-11 season. He played in Israel for Ironi Kfar Hamaccabia Ramat Gan (National League) in the 2009-10 season.

One of his more noteworthy accomplishments is being named to the All-MWC First Team in 2009, after his senior year at the University of Wyoming. That season he averaged 18.5 ppg and 5.0 apg.
