Bojan Popovic joins Sofia

Bojan Popovic (191 cm) has joined Lukoil Academik Sofia (Bulgaria-NBL) for the rest of the season. In 2011-12 Popovic suited up for Crvena Zvezda Beograd (Serbia-A League), where he played in 24 Adriatic League games, averaging 7.0 points and 3.5 assists per game; and 21 Serbian League games, averaging 7.8 points and 4.1 assists per game. He started his professional career in 2001 and has played in Russia, Spain, Lithuania and Turkey. Popovic played for the Yugoslavian U20 National Team in 2002, the Serbia and Montenegro University National Team in 2003, the Serbia and Montenegro National Team in 2005-06, and the Serbian National Team in 2009-10.
