There is a new team atop of the Kosovo Superleague. KB Bashkimi Prizren upset Sigal Prishtina 77-61 in Game 4 of the finals to win their first-ever league championship. Sigal Prishtina has held onto the crown since 2014.
The game was close at the beginning with the score all tied up at the end of the first half. The hosts played better overall. They had better teamwork and overcame an explosive 24-point effort by Sigal Prishtina’s Filip Bundovic. Unfortunately for the defending champs, he was the only one producing consistently on offense.
At the other end of the floor, Bashkimi saw four of their starters drop points in double figures. Mikaile Tmusic and Aaron Moss led the way with 17 points each.
This an exciting turn for Kosovan hoops. Bashkimi is now a legitimate threat and could form a long-term rivalry with Sigal Prishtina.
