Barcelona earns first win in Moscow since 2012; advances to the EuroLeague playoffs

Barcelona grabbed its seventh consecutive win and punched its ticket to the EuroLeague Playoffs by downing CSKA Moscow 80-82.

The Catalans improved to 20-6 in the standings, clinching their spot in the postseason. On the other hand, the Muscovites dropped to 17-9 and are fifth in the standings.

Nikola Mirotic led the winners with 23 points, including the game-winning jumper with 0.4 seconds left.

This was the first victory in Moscow for Barcelona since November 2012.

Scottie Wilbekin hit a three-pointer with 10.6 seconds left to lift Maccabi Tel Aviv to a dramatic 71-70 win over Olympiacos.

The Israelis raised their record to 17-8 and maintained a top four push. For their part, the “Reds” fell to 11-15 and failed to reach the playoff zone.

Wilbekin scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half, while Shaquielle McKissic had 14 for the Greeks in his EuroLeague debut.

Anadolu Efes gained a commanding 86-99 victory over ALBA Berlin to retain its three-game lead on top of the standings.

The Turks also set a new EuroLeague record by winning their 12th consecutive road game.

Efes improved to 23-3, while ALBA dropped to 9-17.

Baskonia bounced back from its recent losses and rallied past Crvena Zvezda at the Fernando Buesa Arena on Thursday (71-56).

Both teams now have a 10-16 record in the EuroLeague standings and remained alive in the playoff race.

Toko Shengelia led the Basques with 18 points, whereas Vladimir Stimac posted 13 for the Serbians.

Bayern Munich snapped a four-game losing streak by downing Zenit St Petersburg 68-77 on the road on Thursday.

Bayern improved to an 8-18 record, leaving Zenit alone at the bottom of the standings at 7-19. Both teams have already been eliminated.

Monroe finished with 26 points – the personal best of his first EuroLeague season so far – to go with eight rebounds and five assists.

Austin Hollins netted 18 and Gustavo Ayon 17 points in defeat for Zenit.
