Banvit Basketbol capture 5th Rixos Cup

The 5th International Rixos Cup is in the books today as Banvit Basketbol Kulubu earned the title with a victory over Anadolu Efes and Galatasaray grabbed third with a win over Besiktas.

Galatasaray Medical Park – Besiktas 86-77
Galatasaray led off the championship day with a convincing win over Besiktas to capture third place in the Rixos Cup. Furkan Aldemir paced the winners with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while David Hawkins added 20 in the win. Besiktas got 16 each from Patrick Christopher, Gasper Vidmar and Muratcan Guler in their squad’s defeat.

Banvit Bksketbol Kulubu – Anadolu Efes 78-74
Banvit stood on top of the winners stand with a 78-74 win over Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Vladimir Stimac was named Tournament MVP after leading the Banvit contingent to the title behind an 18-point, 12-rebound performance in the final contest. Samuel Meija and Kenan Bajramovis each contributed 13 points. Jordan Farmer pace Anadolu Efes with 18 points, while Sasha Vujacc contributed 15.

    Banvit looks pretty good this year, and the Turkish champs is really attractive. They have som uch great players there!
