Ayinde Ubaka (193 cm, California’07) has been signed to an agreement with Hoverla Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine-Superleague) to replace Patrick Sparks (184 cm,Kentucky’06). Ubaka was given a two-game tryout for Hoverla, where he averaged 7.0ppg and 3.5rpg when was enough to prompt team management to decide to make the change. Sparks has averaged 7.7ppg over the first 13 games of the season. Ubaka comes to Hoverla from the Wollongong Hawks (Australia-NBL), averaging 13.6ppg over 11 games. He was with the Melbourne Tigers (Australia-NBL) prior to Wollongong, where he averaged 12.0ppg over 18 games. Ubaka has 12 games of experience in the NBA D-League, having played for the Anaheim Arsenal in 2009. He played his college basketball at the University of California, spending four years with the Golden Bears and compiling a career scoring average of 10.9ppg and career assists average of 3.8apg over 110 games.
