Chongqing Fly Dragon from China’s NBL has landed young Iranian rising star Arsalan Kazemi (200 cm, Oregon’13) this 2014-15. Iran has in recent years emerged as a dominant force in Asian basketball. Their fresh crop of promising players are intriguing prospects for teams in the region. Kazemi is one such prospect and has been a member of the Iranian national team in 2010-12 and again this 2014. In 2013-14 Arsalan was initially with the Philadelphia 76ers, but then headed home to play for Petrochimi Bandar Imam Harbor (Iran-Superleague). He averaged a solid double-double with 12.5 ppg and 11.o rpg in 29 games, helping his club claim the Iranian Superleague championship in 2014.
