Both All-Euroleague teams highlight the consistency of home players this season as European Basketball stars continue to dominate. In fact only one player in either team is not from Europe, United States center Shawn James. For some this may seem a surprising result considering the amount of foreign players in the Euroleague, and of course how mainly Americans are consistent in most teams.

The more eagle eyed among you may realize that there is a common denominator among most of the players on this list, one that suggests that success breeds success. All but three players have won or come close to winning Europe’s premier Basketball competition, the international EuroBasket tournament.

All the Russian, Spanish, and Greek players on the list have won Europe’s top prize, while both Serbian players reached the 2009 EuroBasket final and lost to Spain. So the this list of the season best players really does show a group that has been successful at all levels of the sport.

Shawn James as an American has never played the EuroBasket, while both Tomic and Mirotic have not lifted the trophy.
