Alex Renfroe agrees with Galatasaray
Alex Renfroe (191 cm, Belmont’09) has agreed to terms on a deal to play for Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul (Turkey-BSL) this 2017-18. Renfroe is a veteran of European hoops. He is also a 31-year-old American player who also holds a passport from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Alex played for the Bosnian National Team in 2015 and 2016. His 2016-17 season was spent on the roster of FC Barcelona Lassa (Spain-Liga Endesa) and FC Bayern Muenchen (Germany-BBL). Alex started the season with the German club, playing six games for them in the Eurocup and was able to average 5.0 ppg and 4.2 apg. Renfroe also played nine games in the domestic German league and there he notched averages of 3.8 ppg and 2.8 apg.
In November 2016, Alex moved to FC Barcelona, where he finished off the season. He played 17 games for Barca in the EuroLeague where he averaged 3.9 ppg and 2.1 rpg. In 23 games in the Spanish League, Renfroe was able to average 6.0 ppg and 2.0 apg.
