Akeem Wright pens with London Lightning

Akeem Wright (200 cm, Kansas State’07) is now a member of the London Lightning from Canada’s NBL this 2016. In his debut for his new club, Wright scored six points and grabbed four rebounds. He began the 2015-16 season playing in Europe for Pyrinto Tampere (Finland-Korisliiga). Akeem played 14 games for his former club before his departure and averaged 14.1 ppg and 7.4 rpg.

The 30-year-old Wright spent the 2014/15 season playing for the Sundsvall Dragons (Sweden-Basketligan). He posted solid numbers that year, averaging close to a double-double with 16.6 ppg and 9.1 rpg through 41 games. Akeem was also a boon on the defensive end for his team, posting averages of 1.8 steals per game. He helped push his team to the league semifinals in 2015.
