The whole team of KK Radnički Kragujevac from Serbia has been fined by the board of the club. All players, plus the coaching staff, will see half of their salary withheld this month!

The reason for this is the bad start in the Adriatic league. KK Radnički Kragujevac has lost all three games so far, while they have the strongest team in the club’s history. The expectations were very high at the beginning of the season, but the fans and the board members now start to get nervous.

Actually, KK Radnički is in the same situation as two other Serbian teams; Red Star Belgrade and Partizan Belgrade. Red Star also has the strongest roster in years. Partizan is in the middle of some financial turmoil and simply doesn’t have the money to go after veteran players, so the team is full of young and inexperienced players. However, according to coach Vujosevic, it is the most talented group he has ever coached.

Despite all this, all three Serbian teams have had a disappointing start of the season. In team sports this is rather normal when you have a complete new team. Teams then often have a turbulent start but become stronger as the season progresses and in the case of Partizan, coach Vujosevic even says that he needs FOUR years to be competitive with his young team (the youngest team ever to play in the Adriatic league and the Euroleague).

Red Star already fired the coach after two losses and now the whole team of Radnički has to give up half of their salary. What’s next?
