Vince Carter Wants 20-year NBA Career

Vince Carter Relentless, fearless, and fiercely in love with the game of basketball; Vince Carter does not want to call it quits. Not just yet. Not even anytime soon. While future Hall-of-Famers Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan have closed the chapters on their NBA careers; Carter, who will be turning 40 this 2016-17, wants to  play two more seasons. He is currently on the roster of the Memphis Grizzlies and ready to enter his 19th season in the league.

“I just love to play. It’s not out of me yet. When I don’t want to play and don’t want to put the work in, that’s when I step away from the game, but right now I still love it.”

“Not right now,” Carter said. “We know No. 19 is definitely going to go down. I’m shooting for 20, and we’ll go from there after that.”

While his role with recent teams has diminished, at least compared to his high-flying days with the Toronto Raptors, Carter has found ways to stay relevant or at least useful. He’s evolved as a fairly accurate knockdown shooter from deep. Will he last until the summer of 2018? Given his drive and dedication, it isn’t a far fetched idea for him to achieve his goal. With his “Vinsanity” days in the distant rearview, Vince can still look ahead to logging more than a few more games under his belt.
