Boston Celtics; Russell, Cousy, and Jones (1957-1963)

When Sam Jones joined the Boston Celtics in 1957, they were the defending NBA Champions. They also featured two superstars by the names of Bill Russell and Bob Cousy. While Russell and Cousy would dominate the headlines, and both go on to win the league MVP award, it was often Jones who did the bulk of the scoring.

This trio was only separated by Cousy’s retirement in 1963. By the time The Houdini of the Hardwood decided his time as a professional player was over, he Russell and Jones had amassed five consecutive NBA titles. All three men, along with their legendary coach, Red Auerbach, would go on to become Hall-of-Fame inductees. This group laid the foundation for the Boston Celtics to become one of the greatest franchises in the history of North American professional sports.
