Tal Burstein set to retire

Tal Burstein, 32, announced his retirement from professional basketball at a press conference in Tel Aviv, Israel on Monday night. After learning that his injured hip would require surgery, Burstein decided that the best option was to hang up his shoes. The surgery would have required extensive rehabilitation that would have cost him the entire 2012-13 season. His career has been filled with injuries, costing him almost an entire season in 2007-08 and the first nine games of 2006-07.
Burstein’s career with Maccabi Tel Aviv has been productive though as he ranks 13th on the Maccabi all-time leading scorers list.
