Steve Nash to Miss 2014/15 NBA Season

Steve Nash

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without point guard Steve Nash for the entirety of the 2014/15 season due to a back injury. The former two-time MVP was about to enter his 19th NBA season. At 40 years of age the Canadian guard is the oldest active NBA player. He had been battling injuries over the last couple of seasons. Nash managed to play in only 15 games in 2013/14. Recent free agent acquisition Jeremy Lin will take on the starting point guard duties for the Lakers moving forward.

“Being on the court this season has been my top priority, and it is disappointing to not be able to do that right now,” Nash said. “I work very hard to stay healthy, and unfortunately my recent setback makes performing at full capacity difficult. I will continue to support my team during this period of rest and will focus on my long-term health.”
