Steve Nash Announces Retirement

Steve Nash

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash (190 cm, Santa Clara’05) has announced his retirment from basketball. The 41-year-old Nash will be remembered as one of top Canadians to ever play in the NBA as well as arguably one of the all-time greatest point guards to ever handle NBA leather. He spent most of his 18-year NBA career with the Phoenix Suns, where he played 10 seasons. He won two Most Valuable Player Awards playing for Phoenix in 2004/05 and 2005/06.

Nash had been dealing with back problems, on and off, for several seasons. He missed the entire 2014/15 season with the Lakers and managed to play in just 15 games for them in 2013/14. He averaged 6.8 ppg and 5.7 apg that season and clearly was hampered by his nagging injuries.
