Solomon Alabi joins Qingdao Eagles

Solomon AlabiSolomon Alabi (216 cm, Flordia St.’10) has joined the Qingdao Double Star Eagles (China-CBA) to replace the recently waived Ilunga Mbenga. Alabi most recently played with the Toronto Raptors in the NBA, where he’s been for the last two seasons. He was drafted out of Florida St. in the 2nd round (50th pick overall) by the Dallas Mavericks and traded to the Raptors. In his first season he spent time going back and forth between the Raptors and the Erie Bay Hawks of the NBA D-League. He was recalled by the Raptors for the 2011-12 seasons and was assigned to the Bakersfield Jam, only to be recalled to the NBA club a month later. Alabi was signed by the New Orleans Hornets for the 2012-13 season, but was released prior to the 2012-13 season opening.
