Sergio Scariolo fired by EA7 Armani
Sergio Scariolo was already in hot water earlier this season with key home losses by EA7 Emporio Armani Milano from Italy’s Serie A. He lost favor with the fans and was even urged to step down. His current contract with the team set to expire in June. It is clear that the Italian coach will not be returning for another season. EA7 Armani, which is one of the better funded teams in SerieA, will now be looking for a new head coach very soon.
He joined the team in the 2011-12 season and guided EA7 Armani to finish as the Italian SerieA Regular Season Runners-Up and even as far to finish as a Finalist in the Championships in 2012.
Prior to his coaching two seasons in Italy he briefly coached BC Khimky Moscow, but most of his coaching career has been in Spain. He’s coached Spanish teams such as Unicaja Malaga and Real Madrid to name a few. He was also coach of the Spanish National Team for four years.

Wow. He won an Italian title as a head coach at the age of 29, youngest ever in the Italian Championship. He head-coached 3 Italian teams before Milan, in the period prior to his move to Spain, with among them two of the most popular and historical (Pesaro and Fortitudo Bologna). He was at Khmiki not for a brief spell but for almost 3 years.
And he wasn’t fired, they mutually parted, while fans didn’t show any favour for any coach in the last 15+ years, the time since the last title landed in Milan.
