Laboral Kutxa from Spain’s ACB is making changes for the 2013-14 season. Aside from a new team name – they were formerly Caja Laboral Vitoria – they now also have a new head coach in Italian Sergio Scariolo. He parted ways with EA7 Emporio Armani Milano (Italy-SerieA) in May 2013. Scariolo coached EA7 Armani for two seasons, from 2011 to 2013.
Scariolo has had lengthy experience coaching Spanish ball clubs. He coached Real Madrid from 1999 to 2002. He also was the head coach of Unicaja Malaga from 2004 to 2008. Scariolo was able to lead each of those teams to at least on Spanish ACB Championship. He was also formerly the head coach of the Spanish National Team from 2009 to 2012.
