Salah Mejri signs with Real Madrid

Salah Mejri (217 cm) is moving to Real Madrid (Spain-ACB) from Blusens Monbus Obradoiro CAB (Spain-ACB) for the 2013-14 season. The Tunisian big man will likely play a reserve role, backing up Real Madrid’s starting front court.

Mejri averaged 9.4 ppg and 5.3 rpg in 36 games for Blusens Monbus in 2012-13. He was the Liga Endesa ACB Revelation Player of the Year in 2013, in clear recognition of his potential for the future. Before his stint with Blusens Monbus he played two seasons for Belgium’s Port of Antwerp Giants. In 2011-12 he averaged 9.2 ppg and 7.8 rpg in the Belgian league and averaged 7.3 ppg and 7.2 rpg in the EuroChallenge.
