Russell Westbrook sets NBA record

Russell Westbrook Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook (190 cm, UCLA’08) has been taking his game up a notch in recent weeks. He’s chasing Oscar Robertson’s record of 41 triple-doubles in one season. Last night Westbrook not only recorded his 38th triple-double of the season, he also set a new NBA record. With 57 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists Russell not only rallied his team to defeat the Orlando Magic in overtime, 114-106, he also now holds the record for the highest scoring triple-double in league history. This is his second 50-point triple-double of the season. He’s currently tied with James Harden who also has two. Both players are top picks to win this season’s Most Valuable Player award.
