The Phoenix Suns decided to part ways with head coach Alvin Gentry on Friday.

He originally took the job on an interim basis during the 2008-09 season before taking over full time the next season.

Phoenix currently sits in the Western Conference basement with a 13-28 record, which already puts them well out of the playoff picture.

The front office apparently believed Gentry wasn’t doing enough to turn the team around and proceeded let him go before the All-Star break.
