A tragic mistake has ended the life of New Orleans Pelicans rookie Bryce Dejean-Jones. The 23-year-old died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen which he sustained breaking into an apartment in Dallas, Texas over the weekend. The resident of the apartment called out to him after he broke down the door and entered the premises. After not hearing a reply, the resident reached for a handgun. When the individual (Dejean-Jones) kicked his bedroom door, the resident through the closed door, hitting the player in the abdomen.
Dejean-Jones was visiting his girlfriend in Dallas for his daughter’s first birthday. He is believed to have mistakenly broke into the wrong apartment.
